The recipients of these awards are decided upon by a jury.
The Dave Broadfoot Award
The Dave Broadfoot Award was created by Roger Abbott and Don Ferguson from Royal Canadian Air Farce in 2006 as an annual celebration of comic genius in honour of Canadian funny-man Dave Broadfoot. Selected by Don Ferguson, the recipient receives the award and $2,500. Past recipients include Mike McDonald, Russell Peters, Jeremy Hotz, Mary Walsh, Irwin Barker, Jayne Eastwood and Colin Mochrie.
The Phil Hartman Award
The Phil Hartman Award is awarded to an individual who makes the Canadian comedy community better. Whether it be donating time and talent to charity, or running an open mic, the Phil Hartman Award is presented to someone the comedy community is both proud and thankful to call one of their own. The recipient is selected by a vote made by the CCA Board of Directors and the respective year's Awards Committee, from candidates put forth by that committee.
The Roger Abbott Award
The Roger Abbott Award is awarded to the person or persons in the comedy community who have worked on and been committed to the enhancement of the awards and festival. They are being honoured for their contribution to the Canadian Comedy Awards Festival.
