This section provides an overview of our awards submission criteria.

Before sending your submissions, please review the general submission criteria and the specific requirements of the category to which you are submitting.

2011 Criteria Changes

Best Sketch Troupe or Company
The criteria for this category was clarified with the addition of "Company". Additionally, each individual performer of the ensemble must have performed in at least 75% (a minimum of 8) of the qualifying performances.

Best Improv Troupe or Company
The criteria for this category was clarified with the addition of "Company". Additionally, each individual performer of the ensemble must have performed in at least 75% (a minimum of 8) of the qualifying performances.

Best Comedic Play, Revue or Series
The kinds of submissions eligible for this category have been enhanced with the addition of "Series". This will allow for a wider range of formats to be submitted to this category.

Best Television Show
A new category for comedic television shows, with each stand-alone episode at least 15 "broadcast" minutes in length. The award is presented to the producer or producers of the television show.

Best Performance by a Ensemble - Television
Clarification on the term "ensemble" has been made. Each individual performer of the ensemble must play lead or principal characters in 75% of the qualifying episodes.

Best Film
A new category for comedic films broadcast or publicly screened in their first run in Canada during the previous calendar year. The award is presented to the producer or producers of the film.

Best Web Clip
To complement the growth in longer form online entertainment, the maximum length of submissions to this category has been increased to fifteen minutes.
